The “superfan” aka the Wares are posting on Jensen’s IMDB message board. It would be much appreciated if people who have IMDB accounts could PLEASE help remove some of her posts of comments.

Here is the link to her profile on IMDB

http://www.imdb.com/user/ur22360344/boards/profile/

How to get her messages deleted are 3 easy steps.

1. Select a post she wrote and go to it.

2. Click on report user.

3, That will take you to a page to report the user and why. There is a scroll down list and the easiest one to use is “Poster is a troll”

We would appreciate your help in removing her posts from Jensen’s board, as the board tends to be more about Jensen the actor and his work or him on Supernatural. Thank you in advance for your help.

Dear ____ webmasters,

I’d like to bring this entry to your attention:
“concerning article link”

This information is false, and I’d even go so far as to call it libel. Jensen Ackles is engaged to actress Danneel Harris. Check IMBD, or view Danneel’s verified Twitter account:

The article was submitted by a person that has been known in the Supernatural Fandom for years under the name of “Stephanie Ware.” She shows up on various social networks and blogs, sometimes as herself, sometimes as her daughter Bianca or “fans” and keeps spreading lies about Jensen Ackles and Danneel Harris.

Reading the recent comments to the “Who are the true fans?” article, I believe there are some severe misunderstandings. It would take a great amount of time to answer to each comment directly, and some of them did have similar arguments, so I’m doing it here in a combined statement.

Why name myself “police”?
Some of you have criticized the term “police” because in your opinion it implies that I police everything I personally find unjust in fandom. That is a wrong impression. I picked the name maybe due to lack of a better idea, but mostly because I remembered an interview with Jensen, where he, himself, had mentioned fans policing wrong information.

TV Week: What’s the most outrageous thing you’ve read or heard about yourself?

Jensen Ackles: That I was married to some girl. The funny thing about working on a show like this is that the fans are very protective. If something is written on the internet, it’s amazing how quickly the fans will attack them and police them and say, “No, this is not correct. Don’t write this. You’re off the messageboards” or whatever. But there was quite a long thing for a while where people were arguing about the fact that I was married to some girl I’d never heard of. It was a bit bizarre. It was like an ongoing discussion for a year about whether or not I had this secret marriage to this girl I’d never met.

I see how the term “police” may threaten some of you, but it never has been and never will be the intention to police ‘regular’ fans and scold them for things I, personally, find wrong. This blog, as you can read in the About section, is meant to collect information on impostors and find ways to get rid of them, i.e. contacting the admins of sites where Stephanie Ware has posted false info.

Policing the parody/satire twitter accounts
Contrary to some of your allegations, I have never said “Don’t follow these fakes.” My statement about them before I listed their names was as neutral as it could be.

Most of them are merely making fun of him [Clif] and the people they are impersonating (in a more or less rude way). They’re sort of amusing and very obvious, so nothing to worry about. Yet worth mentioning just in case there might be any confusion (although I doubt anyone will take them seriously).

Why I, personally, find these people rude and offensive (which is my personal opinion that I’m now voicing in a calm and respectful way), I see that they ARE parodies and don’t fit the description of a hardcore impostor/stalker that really means to deceive other people.

Am I an elitist fan?
I don’t see myself as an elitist fan, but I see myself as a person with a strong sense of justice. As said before, this blog is mainly about the really severe cases of impersonation and stalking, which most of you, even my opponents, have agreed being a burden.

Furthermore I see myself as a kind of journalist. I point out grievances in our community and provide information. Up until the last entry “Who are the True Fans?” there have only been hard facts and figures in this blog (with exception of some vague information on @SexyJensenLOL and his supposed attempt to lure a girl into meeting him. I have, after that flaw has been pointed out to me, stressed more strongly that this info is based on hearsay and can only be labeled ‘Could Be’ as there is no hard proof he actually did it.)

Yes, it is true that I spend a lot of time on this blog. While that applies it also does to anyone that owns a fansite or makes fancreations of any kind. Ask the fanfic authors how much time they spend on their stories. Do they see themselves as elitist fans and littérateurs? Maybe. Maybe not. Each and everyone of us decides to put their energies and talents into various things, be it creative or scientific or something else.

However, after I received so much negative feedback for doing something each product testing site, newspaper or educational campaign does in other areas I made the mistake to add my personal opinion to the facts. And bluntly said, yes, I do feel I am a better fan than those that are perfectly fine with people committing libel and slander against their stars.

That, however, doesn’t mean that no ‘good and true fan’ is allowed to criticize Jared and Jensen or anyone involved. Criticism is okay, as long as it is expressed in a respectful and reasonable way. All of us have learned at school when analysing a book or poem we can’t just say “it’s bullshit and the author is a moron.” We have to find valid arguments and express them in an intelligent way.

Different opinions are good and important, but so is respect. And I got the strong feeling that some people that call themselves ‘fans’ show no respect whatsoever towards the people they should, by definition be admiring. If you say Clif is representing J and J poorly because he is no person with PR knowledge, and if you’re saying his playground comment was unwise and uncalled for and crossing a line, that is your opinion and fine (and I agree on the playground comment). But, and here’s a big but, name calling and insulting is at least as unwise and stupid as you’re accusing Clif or me to be.

Conclusion:
Fandompolice’s only purpose is it to expose and fight serious impostors and stalkers, not fans that don’t share my personal opinion.
I never said don’t follow the parody twitters or that they belong in the same category as the serious impostors.
I’m not an elitist fan and don’t see myself as one. I am concerned and worried and plan to do something about it.

This article and the last will, for now, remain the only ones that provide an insight into the person behind fandompolice and her personal opinion and motivations. The next one I write will be purely facts again.

P.S.: Oh, and thanks for the Hitler Youth comparison. Funny, since I’m German. And yes I have read “The Wave” in 9th grade.

Ever since Clif Kosterman has joined Twitter and ever since I have started this blog (and got a matching twitter account) there has been a group of people that has reacted with a lot of criticism towards us. They claim that ‘the majority’ of fans feels embarrassed by Clif and those supporting him, that fighting against posers is silly and pointless, that we should get lives, that Clif only wants a piece of Jared and Jensen’s fame, and so forth.

While these allegations don’t bother me, personally, I’ve come to ask myself what kind of ‘fans’ these people are.

What is a fan?

A fan, short for fanatic, aficionado, or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking and enthusiasm for a sporting club, person (usually a celebrity), group of persons, company, product, activity, work of art, idea, or trend. Fans of a particular thing or person constitute its fanbase or fandom. (Wikipedia)

By that definition and the one most of us will agree to, a fan is a person that adores something passionately. Now, if you’re only a fan of Supernatural as a show and not of the people involved the following doesn’t apply to you, but if you are a fan of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles that means, by definition, you have an intense liking for them. In return, intensely liking someone should, by my definition, include caring about what that someone wants and respecting their wishes.

Jared and Jensen have clearly shown by making their statement video that they do not approve of the fakers. And common sense alone tells us that they certainly don’t approve of people threatening and insulting their fiancées. Especially Danneel Harris has been a victim of a lot of abuse for a very long time. The opponents of this campaign say everyone with a normally functioning brain should get who the fakers are, yet they feel perfectly fine about insulting the people their supposed Idols care about.

The allegation that Clif only wants to be in the spot light and does something Jared and Jensen are most likely ashamed of has no grounds whatsoever. As you can see in the video they are saying Clif is their guy and that their fans should follow him. How much sense does it make that their bodyguard decides to get a twitter account over their heads, without their approval and support? How much sense does it make to say that Jared and Jensen don’t care about the impostors at all and that they find it embarrassing how Clif polices them? None, if you ask me.

So clearly, Clif is doing what Jared and Jensen want. And furthermore Fandompolice is doing the same. Why do some ‘fans’ still try to put us in a bad light and color us the bad guys? What exactly is wrong with trying to rid the fandom of trolling haters that show no respect whatsoever towards their fellow fans and their idols?

Oh right, freedom of speech. If freedom of speech was, in reality, absolutely untouchable and irrevocable, there would be no censorship at all. People could express libel and slander without being sued, others could sexually harass their coworkers and not lose their job, newspapers would never have to print retractions, you could insult a police man without consequences, pupils could treat their teachers and classmates disrespectfully and forum owners would never ban trolls. There is a difference with what you are legally allowed to express freely or what you can express in your own area of influence and what you express within a community and thereby abide to the community’s rules. Twitter is a community with rules, and all of us signed up there in awareness of that policy. Those of you that now refer to freedom of speech in a partially restricted community should maybe consider moving on to places where there are no restrictions at all.

In short: Twitter made the rules, not I or Clif or Jensen and Jared. There are people that are severely breaking the rules and with that disturbing those that trusted these rules being implemented.

I don’t see why insisting on the compliance of these rules is anything wrong. And I certainly don’t see why opposing openly rude and hostile people is anything shameful and stupid either.

Ever since Clif Kosterman has joined twitter there has been a slight increase of new fakers.

After talking to Robin from mishasminions.com about the faker issue and what could be done, I wrote an open letter and she kindly published it on her blog. In the letter, I called upon the Twitter management to finally take some action against these impostors and upon the fakers themselves, telling them that we are not tolerating them any longer.

We, the fans of Supernatural and of Jared and Jensen, are sick of fakers, imposters and haters that put us in a bad light. It is our intention to get those fakers banned from all messaging platforms (such as Twitter, Facebook and Myspace) and online communities because we’ve had enough! We will not tolerate being fooled, harassed and insulted any longer!

Find the full letter on The Misha’s Minions Blog. Please read, sign and forward the letter.

We still need more attention for that letter, especially from any sort of official sites/accounts (CW, Buddy TV, journalist blogs etc). If you know a way to contact anyone of bigger influence than I please help us spread this message.

In the meantime, I want to thank those that have already signed and commented on the letter. Some of the comments have been really good and showed how fed up we are with the fakers.

Some of you might be amused by the fact that so many people fall for impersonators, and as long as those impersonators don’t harass and insult others constantly, you may be right.

However, in the case of Twitter user @SexyJensenLOL we might be dealing with something more than just a regular faker. He is said to have lured a young girl into meeting him. Find the whole story here at this Livejournal entry.

There is no hard proof on this story, so each of us have to decide whether to believe the girl or not.

If this is true, however, this person might very well be someone with bad intentions, a sexual offender in the worst case. To stay on the safe side I’m stressing the word ‘might’ because I’m basing this information on hearsay.

If you know or are the girl that met him, please contact us and give us the whole story. Don’t be shy or embarrassed about it. If it really happened like stated in that LJ entry this is a very serious matter, and it would be highly necessary to inform other young fans about possible dangers.

Furthermore I call upon all of you to post this information along and tell other fans, even if the aforementioned story is not true, that no matter how nice a supposed celebrity might seem, their followers must not, under any circumstances, meet up with them! (Unless it’s a verified account, but then again when has a verified celebrity ever asked any of us out on a date?)

Feel free to comment or contact us if you have further information on this matter.

And be safe!

Update: Someone has pointed out that the girl deleted herself on Twitter and has confessed the story to be a lie. I can’t say anything about the second part, because I haven’t read any such confession anywhere, but I know for a fact that she hasn’t deleted her account, she merely changed her name, which is why the innitial link to her profile that some people have had is not working anymore.
I have talked to her via DM and she says the story was true.
I have asked her to give me a more detailled account on what has happened, but she hasn’t replied to me yet. She has said in her previous DMs, however, that she still has SexyJensenLol’s direct messages where they agreed on a meeting point and time.
Those of you that doubt her credibility might say she could have just made that up as well, and of course I can’t deny that possibility. As for now, for me, the status of this whole affair is a ‘Could Be’.
